CITY-LEVEL STEM TEACHING PROGRAM FOR GRADE 4 SCIENCE

City-level STEM teaching workshop for 4th grade Science.
STEM lesson: "Making a Simple Musical Instrument".
        With the desire to contribute to the widespread and effective implementation of STEM education in schools, on the morning of November 8, 2023, Van Bao Primary School in Ha Dong district conducted a science workshop on "Sound in Life" – a STEM lesson on "Making Simple Musical Instruments". Attendees included: Representatives from the Primary Education Department of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training; leaders and specialists from the Ha Dong District Department of Education and Training; leaders, specialists, and administrators from Phu Xuyen district; and administrators and teachers from 10 districts.
This STEM lesson for Science 4 is a core subject, integrated with Math, Technology, Art, and Music. The STEM lesson "Making Simple Musical Instruments" was demonstrated through a demonstration lesson by teacher Hoang Thi Thu Hang and students from class 4A7. The lesson was designed to be taught over two periods.
– Lesson 1: The teacher conducted activities to build foundational knowledge for students through two activities: the role of sound in life and exploring some musical instruments.
– Lesson 2: Students will make some simple musical instruments from recycled materials.
The city-level STEM workshop: The STEM lesson "Making Simple Musical Instruments" was highly praised by leaders at all levels for its innovative methods, formats, and application of information technology in teaching.
This thematic workshop can be considered a forum for sharing and discussing the theory and practice, as well as effective experiences and measures for implementing STEM education in line with the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program's reformed teaching and learning activities.GContributing to the training of well-rounded individuals, maximizing the potential and creativity of each student in life and guiding their future. Hopefully, each STEM lesson will be a page in the diary of a happy classroom.
