SPECIALIZED WORKSHOP ON EDUCATION OF GRATITUDE

SPECIALIZED WORKSHOP ON EDUCATION OF GRATITUDE

Over an hour of sharing, we were able to awaken the hearts of young people who, "more than once, whether intentionally or unintentionally, have saddened their parents." There were tears shed, and faces couldn't hide their emotions. And "Joy brings happiness, but tears make us mature."
Gratitude is one of the most precious moral qualities of our nation. In life, we cannot do without those who have helped us, those who have worked hard to give us a good life. It is the contributions of previous generations that have given us the freedom and happiness we enjoy today. If we forget the kindness of those who have helped us, our lives will not be any better. Gratitude is the starting point for becoming a good person, always performing good deeds and bringing joy to others. It is also the solid foundation for other good feelings such as patriotism, compassion for the people, filial piety towards parents, and respect for teachers. And we need to remember the precious reminders of our ancestors: "When you drink water, remember the source," "When you eat fruit, remember the one who planted the tree."
In commemoration of the 69th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi on October 10th and the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union on October 20th. Van Bao Primary School organized a thematic activity on Gratitude Education with the participation of speaker Hieu Linh – a life skills and psychology expert.
The talk, themed "Gratitude," was led by speaker Hieu Linh through relatable stories such as the birthdays of friends and parents; stories about the students' births and growth; and the silent sacrifices of teachers and parents. With an engaging narrative style and captivating presentation, the speaker guided the students through meaningful and touching stories, helping them better understand the meaning and theme of the event.
Speaker Hieu Linh shared short but emotionally resonant stories full of valuable lessons. The students were immersed in these touching tales of family love. Hieu Linh's authentic and relatable stories deeply impacted the students' psychology, prompting them to reflect on their responsibilities to their families, their responsibilities to society, and even their own self-reflection. From this, they experienced profound moments of reflection on gratitude and their love for their parents. After more than an hour of sharing, the speaker's words awakened the hearts of these young minds. "More than once, whether intentionally or unintentionally, I have upset my parents."There were tears shed, and faces that couldn't hide their emotions. And"Joy brings happiness, but tears are what make us mature.".
These everyday things may seem simple, but today the children are deeply grateful: grateful for the life their parents gave them, grateful for every meal and every night's sleep their parents provided, grateful for their daily guidance and teachings... grateful for all the hard work and sacrifices their parents made to give them the best.
This life skills education session helped students understand how to express their feelings and gratitude to their grandparents, parents, teachers, etc. They understood the hardships and sacrifices their parents and teachers have made for them. They understood what they haven't done, or what they have done (through words, actions, and specific deeds) but not in the right way for their parents and teachers. This was evident in the students' emotions, in the tears streaming down their cheeks throughout the session, and in the tight hugs they gave to their parents and teachers, their eyes filled with tears.
The extracurricular life skills education session helped the students learn about caring, helping others, gratitude, self-discipline, and self-sacrifice, with the hope that they will strive to study hard, obey their grandparents, parents, and teachers, and not give up on their dreams and aspirations. It can be said that, along with knowledge, cultivating gratitude is essential for students' self-improvement, training, and steady growth, so that in the future they will become citizens with good character and moral qualities, beneficial to society.
