THE COLD FOOD FESTIVAL – A FUN EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS OF VAN BAO PRIMARY SCHOOL
The Cold Food Festival (Tết Hàn Thực) takes place on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month every year. Vietnamese people traditionally offer glutinous rice balls (bánh trôi) and vegetarian cakes (bánh chay) to their ancestors. This is not only a beautiful cultural tradition but also a beautiful aspect of culinary art. This tradition is deeply ingrained in the Vietnamese consciousness, so much so that every year on the Cold Food Festival, people eagerly prepare these cakes.
To educate students about the significance of the Cold Food Festival (Tết Hàn Thực) and to bring them joy and excitement, fostering patriotism and pride in national cultural heritage, the school organized a glutinous rice dumpling and vegetarian cake-making competition among classes on the morning of April 11, 2024 (corresponding to the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month).
