VAN BAO PRIMARY SCHOOL ORGANIZES ACTIVITIES TO CELEBRATE VIETNAMESE PEOPLE'S ARMY DAY, DECEMBER 22ND
December 22nd is not only the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army but has also become the National Defense Day – a day of great significance for the entire Vietnamese nation.
The predecessor of the Vietnam People's Army was the Vietnam Propaganda and Liberation Army, established on December 22, 1944, in the Tran Hung Dao forest, Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang province.
On December 22, 1989, the first National Defense Day was celebrated in all localities nationwide. Since then, December 22 has truly become a major national holiday with activities focused on the themes of national defense and the military.
To help students understand the great significance of December 22nd, and to foster in them love and pride for the precious traditions of the nation, the Van Bao Primary School's Youth Union organized activities to celebrate the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22nd.
On December 21st, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong – Vice Principal – representing the school's Board of Directors, along with some teachers and students, visited the martyrs' cemetery in Van Phuc ward to offer incense and pay respects to the heroic martyrs who bravely sacrificed their lives to protect the independence of the nation.
On December 22nd, the Van Bao Primary School's Youth Union solemnly organized a traditional education program titled "Drinking Water, Remembering the Source" to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22nd, 1944 – December 22nd, 2022) and the 33rd anniversary of the National Defense Day. The school was honored to welcome members of the veteran delegation – heroes who made immense contributions to the country's revolutionary cause – along with the teachers of the school's teaching staff and over 700 beloved students.
